Charles "Chuck" Addis purchased an Auto Parts business in 1963 located at 226 W Locust Street in Fairbury, Illinois. On May 6th, 1964, Addis Auto Parts, Inc was formed with 2 employees. In the first 10 years, the business grew to 7 full-time employees and 3 outside sales routes. As the business grew, the need for a new building was apparent and a new building at 109 S First Street was built in 1975. In that same year, Mike Addis came home to work for the family business and in 1978 Chuck decided to retire.
In 1985, after years of being an independent parts store, Mike decided to become a Napa parts store. With Napa the store was able to continue its growth with the backing of a national brand. In 1994, Jodi Addis began working for the company as co-owner and office manager. In 2002, Mike and Jodi's son, Nate, began his career in the parts and accessory industry. Throughout the 2000's Mike, Nate, and a great staff continued to grow and service a 40-mile radius around Fairbury.
At the end of 2022, Mike and Jodi decided to retire and Nate and Kiley Addis became the owners of the business. With growth in mind, on January 1st, 2023 Addis Auto Parts, Inc expanded to Gilman, Illinois with the purchase of Gilman Auto Parts, Kraft Inc. from Bill and Bob Kraft. The two locations will focus on Napa but will also offer their customers other nationally known brands such as Ferris mowers, Stihl, and Alumna trailers.
